#FreeBookFriday: Immigration!

I think it should be a lot easier for people to move from low-income to high-income countries. Why? The utilitarian economic reason is that it would open the economic floodgates and help many, many people prosper. Here are a few resources for the skeptical reader or someone looking for ways to get from where we are to somewhere better.

Gary Becker, The Challenge of Immigration: A Radical Solution. Maybe it's not really a "book," but it's a great way to start thinking about the issue.

Lant Pritchett, Let Their People Come: Breaking the Gridlock on International Labor Mobility. This is the book that convinced me that loosening immigration restrictions is a moral imperative in addition to being good economics.
